Further details on how to participate will appear soon. The coordination and control SIG (contact: John Perram, mailto:jperram@mip.ou.dk) will hold its meeting in Barcelona (a popular city!) on 6-7 July (to simplify travel for those attending the MAAMAW workshop). The IATA SIG is currently fixing a date for their meeting. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- * FREE Journal subscriptions for AgentLink members AgentLink has negotiated FREE subscriptions to the recently established "International Journal of Autonomous Agents and Multi-Agent Systems" published by Kluwer Academic Press. Annual subscriptions will be purchased for each full AgentLink member node at a favourable rate, and journal issues will be sent by AgentLink to the technical contact point at each node. (Technical contacts please note: the journal is not your personal copy -- it is intended for your whole group!) For more information about the journal, see: http://www.wkap.nl/journalhome.htm/1387-2532 ---------------------------------------------------------------------- * Feedback from April SIGs Our best estimate is that about 160 people attended the SIG meetings held in London between 20-23 April, of which about 60 were financially supported by AgentLink. In addition, about 50 AgentLink members took advantage of AgentLink sponsorship to attend the PAAM conference. All in all, the week was a great success -- the SIGs clearly made good progress, and the only substantive comments were (i) the weather was awful, (ii) London is expensive, and (iii) the dual locations were a pain. With respect to (i), the weather has been wonderful this week... With respect to (ii) and (iii), we will take these comments on board! (The forthcoming meetings in Barcelona should hopefully be warmer, drier, and cheaper.) Those hoping to claim AgentLink support for the SIG should get their claims to QMW *before* 23 June 1999. Please read the expense claim instructions *carefully* before sending in your claim -- full information on how to claim is available online (go to the AgentLink home page and follow the link to "administration"). ---------------------------------------------------------------------- * Joint i3net/AgentLink workshop on Agents & Interfaces AgentLink and i3net (the Network of Excellence for intelligent information interfaces) will hold a joint workshop on agents & interfaces in July, to be held in Valencia (Spain) either before or after the MAAMAW-99 workshop. Some travel support will be available to AgentLink members wishing to participate. Full details will be available soon -- in the meantime, please contact the AgentLink coordinator of the event, Jeremy Pitt (mailto:j.pitt@ic.ac.uk) if you wish to participate.
