In addition, these three SIGs together with Agents for Simulation (Rosaria Conte - mailto:rosaria@pscs2.irmkant.rm.cnr.it) and Agents for Electronic Commerce (Carles Sierra - mailto:sierra@iiia.csic.es) have agreed to have meetings co-located with the Autonomous Agents 2000 conference to be held in Barcelona, Spain, in June 2000. FREE registration for the conference is available to SIG participants - see above. As usual, travel support is available from AgentLink for those that participate in SIG meetings. Please contact SIG organisers directly for information on how to participate. The IATA SIG is currently undergoing a reorg - watch this space... ---------------------------------------------------------------------- * UIE Initiative Update The UIE (Universal Information Ecosystems) initiative launched as part of the Fifth Framework IST programme led to only about half the expected number of projects being funded than was expected. As a consequence, the status of UIE as a stand-alone pro-active initiative is somewhat in doubt. Of the projects that were funded, many have a distinctly agent-oriented flavour, and we hope to provide more information on them soon. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- * Autonomous Agents and Multi-Agent Systems Journal Subscriptions As noted in a previous update, AgentLink is purchasing subscriptions to the International Journal of Autonomous Agents and Multi-Agent Systems for all AgentLink members. These subscriptions will be sent directly to the technical contact at each AgentLink node. (The publishers have asked us to point out that subscriptions have been purchased at the individual subscription rate, and are not for institutional library use.) You can get more information about the journal from: http://www.wkap.nl/journalhome.htm/1387-2532 If you have any queries about your subscription, please send to mailto:coordinator@agentlink.org (don't send to the publisher). ----------------------------------------------------------------------
