The process is well underway, but it is vitally important that we receive broader contributions in relation to specific trends and directions for agent technology, and barriers to its take-up, over the short, medium and long term. In support of this effort, therefore, we are asking for AgentLink members and non-members alike to complete short questionnaires giving specific responses to a number of questions. The effort required is minimal, but some thought may be necessary. Please take a few minutes to complete the questionnaires at http://www.agentlink.org/admin/docs/2001/2001-024.pdf http://www.agentlink.org/admin/docs/2001/2001-024.doc and fax, email or post your responses to us. This is important for the future of the field, of the industry, of European funding and policy and, not least, of AgentLink itself. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- * Presentations from AgentLink Technology Conference: Agents for Commercial Applications The First AgentLink Agent Technology Conference: Agents for Commercial Applications was held in London on January 21st, 2002, and was a great success. Aimed at commercial organisations, the conference was dramatically oversubscribed, with some people having to be turned away, and over 115 industrial/commercial participants attending. The response was excellent, and feedback from both speakers and other participants has been strong and encouraging. AgentLink will seek to run other such conferences in the future. Speakers from Lost Wax, HP Laboratories, Living Systems, Tryllian, Whitestein Technologies, DaimlerChrysler, BTexact, Motorola, Siemens, SAP and Agent Oriented Software all participated in the event, and the presentations given at the conference are now being made available online at http://www.agentlink.org/agents-london/presentations.html To stay informed of future events centred around applications and tools for commercial deployment of agent technology, please register your interest at http://www.agentlink.org/agents-london/ ---------------------------------------------------------------------- * Agentcities.NET Information Day, Lausanne, Switzerland (Feb 7-8, 2002) Registrations are now open for the first Agentcities information day (iD1) which will be hosted by the Agentcities.NET IST project in Lausanne, Switzerland on the 7th and 8th of February 2002. The meeting will provide an introduction to the Agentcities initiative which aims to construct a worldwide, open network of platforms hosting diverse agent based services. Registration is free and open to anybody. Event details, registration forms and information on how to join the Agentcities.NET project can be found at http://www.agentcities.org/EUNET. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- * AgentLink II Annual Report now available The first Annual Report for AgentLink II is now available from the AgentLink website at http://www.agentlink.org/admin/docs/2001/2001-021.pdf The report summarises the activities of AgentLink II in its first year, and includes reports on SIGs, workshops and conferences supported, together with details of AgentLink II members and membership trends.
