========== Artificial Intelligence and Decision ==========
==========================================================

=== Brief Description of agent-related activities ===

Our research group is mainly concerned with distributed decision-making, and
aims at producing (i) systems that can support (or act on behalf of) human
users in complex situations, and (ii) systems that can simulate social
activities involving these processes.
These research works are then largely based on the agent technology
paradigm, the 'agents' being alternatively considered as strongly
autonomous decision-makers, or as intelligent assistants.
Amongst our specific interests, we shall list: negotiation and
argumentation, coalition formation, agent communication, multiagent
learning, agent models, agent-based simulation, and computer supported
collaborative work.
One of our major application domain is public transportation.

The group has strong connections with others groups of the dept., in
particular around issues also related to:
o Decision Theory (preference modelling, multicriteria decision-making,
social choice theory),
o Collaborative and Distributed Systems (Mobile agents, Web-service,
Petri Nets),
o Knowledge Management (Agent Mediated Knowledge Management)
