The Intelligent Communications (IC) Lab is developing and applying techniques for advanced information communication applications. We are tackling both the present and future challenges posed by real world industrial and commercial communications networks. These include the management of both wireless networks and fixed networks, service and information management, system control and electronic commerce applications.

Main application areas
Intelligent resource management using Fault, Configuration, Accounting, Performance (e.g. QoS) and Security, where resources can include networks, computers, data and people
Advanced models, based on Trust, Security, Privacy and Anomaly Models, to safeguard resources
Ubiquitous computing systems and applications including: home-networks, ad-hoc networks, mobile data and communication, location-aware systems and applications
Semantic and agent based service / information access and integration.
